ABOUT

Seetha started learning music from a very young age, under the tutelage of her grandmother Smt. Sita Mudumbi,. where she learned the basics of veena, Bharatanatyam, and Carnatic vocal music while developing her passion for the arts. She formally began training in Bharatanatyam at the age of six by Smt. Bhanumati Nallani Chakravartula and performed in many ballets, including the Ramayan Shadow play, Srinivasa Kalyanam, Sri Krishna Parejatam, and other social dramas. Later, she transitioned to the Kuchipudi dance style and trained under Guru Sri. Vedantam Prahladasharma for 15 years until she immigrated to the United States.

After settling in Houston, Texas with her family, she earned her Bachelor’s degree at Houston Baptist University and worked as a business analyst and manager. However, her passion for the arts did not stop. In 2000, she found a new guru in Sri. Vedantam Raghava who helped her resume her training in Kuchipudi. In July 12, 2012, Seetha made her dream a reality by performing her Natya Rangapravesam.

Seetha has continued her training in Kuchipudi dance, while also pursuing other forms of art. Seetha also has received training in Carnatic vocal under Guru Smt. Usha Narasimhan. She is now learning Carnatic violin under the guidance of Sri. Siva Krishna Swaroop, a disciple of renowned violin scholar Sri Peri Sree Rama Murthy.
